University of Medan Area Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng, M.Sc officially opened the Laboratory Officer certification activities (Head of Lab, Implementing Lecturer, Laboratory Assistant and Practicum Monitoring and Evaluation Officer) organized by PJK3 PT. Safindo Raya on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.

The activity lasted for 3 days starting from the 10th to the second. March 13, 2020 in the Rector Meeting Room, University of Medan Area Jl. Pond No.1 Medan Estate.

The Chancellor of Medan Area University in his remarks and opening address conveyed that all laboratory staff were expected to graduate. This activity was carried out in preparation for the accreditation of ISO / IEC 17025: 2017 for testing the compressive strength of concrete at UMA.

ISO / IEC 17025 is the main ISO standard used by testing and calibration laboratories. In most countries, ISO / IEC 17025 is a standard by which most laboratories must have accreditation to be considered technically competent. In many cases, suppliers and regulatory authorities will not accept test or calibration results from non-accredited labs.
